Privacy Policy

Typing Test ("we", "us", "our") is a free typing test and touch-typing course. We don't require an account and don't collect any personal information you don't choose to give us. This page explains the data we do collect and why.

Analytics we use

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how many people visit the site and which pages are used, so we can improve the course and typing tests. Google Analytics collects information such as:

  • Pages you visit and how long you spend on them
  • Approximate location, derived from your IP address (city/region level, not exact)
  • Device, browser, and operating system type
  • How you arrived at the site (e.g. search engine, direct link)

This data is aggregated and used for statistics only — we don't use it to identify you personally, and we don't sell it. Your typing test results and lesson progress are not sent to Google Analytics; they stay in your browser.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets a small number of first-party cookies (such as _ga) to distinguish visitors and remember your session. These are analytics cookies, not advertising or tracking cookies used to follow you across other websites.

Your choices

You can block or limit this data collection at any time:

  • Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
  • Block cookies or use private/incognito browsing in your browser settings
  • Use a browser extension or built-in tracking protection that blocks analytics scripts

Local storage

We may store your typing test results and course progress locally in your browser (e.g. via localStorage) so they persist between visits. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.

Children's privacy

Typing Test is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the site changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
